Meet The Team
Darren Love
I'm Darren Love. The other "Love's" of my life are my wife Katie, my 2 ornery kids, anything outdoors and God (definitely not in that particular order).
I was part of group 34 of Grace Adventure back in 2013. It was a catalyst that began to transform my locked down heart in what I like to call my "Clint Eastwood" syndrome, into an open courageous heart I'm called to lead out of by my King.
Katie and I took a larger step in our involvement in the Grace Adventure lead team January 2023 and will serve here until God tells us otherwise.
Katie Love
Hi, I'm Katie Love, Daughter of the King, lover of my lionheart husband Darren, joy taker in my spunky hilarious kids Ryder and Arrowyn, friend to whoever has the grace to tolerate my intensity, & pursuer of all things deep, spiritual and adventurous.
I first encountered Grace Adventure in 2006 when it wrecked my God box and hydrated me with a refreshing understanding of Grace, my authentic identity in Christ, and rich taste of what the body of Christ can and should be like. I haven't been the same since. I have been serving as a part of GA, in some capacity or another, since then.
Darren and I felt called to take a bigger step into our involvement January 2023 & have come alongside our other dear-hearts God impressed on to continue moving this empowering ministry forward.
Deborah Shanks
Born in Montreal, Canada, I moved to Kansas City in 1997 to marry her husband, Don.
I have spent my adult life in church work &/or ministry of various kinds. I worked for The Salvation Army for 21 years and have 26 years of church/ministry work in KCMO. In 2021 I retired to move to Zambia with Don & for a variety of reasons it did not work out.
I facilitate 2 Bible studies & volunteer at my local church. In the Fall of 2014, I joined the Grace Adventure Team.
We have 3 adult daughters who live in 3 different states. I enjoy reading, studying for Bible studies, gardening & spending time with friends.
Janice DeMoss
I have over 40 years of cumulative experience in church work and ministry. I have served on staff at two large churches in the Kansas City area. I retired in 2009 but have continued to be actively involved in lay ministries, personal ministry to women and home Bible studies.
I have served Grace Adventure as a lead team member since it’s inception in 2002.
I lives in Lone Jack, Missouri with my husband, Ed. We have four children, 12 grandchildren and five
great grandchildren. My favorite things to do are spending time with family (especially great
grandkids) and reading.
